How it works
Clip the straps over the two front-seat headrests so the pouch hangs down behind them, spanning the gap between the front seats. Your dog rides inside the boxed pouch instead of loose on the seat or floor.

A dog with a defined space tends to settle into it rather than pace between the seats and the floor. Clipped in place rather than loose, most give up testing the edges after the first few minutes and just ride.
